Rules for Club Competitions


AICSS Club Competitions 2022

AICSS Green Star Dog of the Year competition AND Green Star Bitch of the Year competition for the dog and bitch winning the most Green Stars 

  • 2022 Dog of the Year competition (begins at IKC show of November 2021) ends with wins at the last champ show of 2022)

All members should keep a record of their own dogs' wins, to be submitted at the end of the year. If you don’t submit your own points your dog is NOT in the competition. NOTE: If there is a tie for Dog of the Year or Bitch of the Year, the number of Best of Breed awards will determine the winner, so please include BOB awards when submitting wins

AICSS Pup/Junior of the Year competition for the pup/junior (6 months to 18 months) winning the most points (including minor puppy, puppy and junior classes)

  • 2022 Puppy/Junior of the Year competition (begins at IKC show of November 2021) ends with wins at the last champ show of 2022)
  • Points calculated as follows:- Champ Shows: 1st place = 4 points, 2nd = 3 points, 3rd = 2 points, 4th = 1 point.  One Bonus point for Green Star.
  • AICSS Champ Show AND AICSS Open Shows: 1st place = 6 points, 2nd = 5 points, 3rd = 4 points, 4th = 3 points.  One Bonus point for Green Star, Two Bonus Points for Best Pup in Show

 (Competitions Open to fully paid-up Club Members Only)

All competing dogs must be registered to a fully paid-up member. the dog should be in the member’s ownership at the time of each qualifying award  

PLEASE NOTE: YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING TRACK OF YOUR DOGS’ WINS AND SUBMITTING THEM FOR INCLUSION IN THE COMPETITION.  THE COMMITTEE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING RECORDS

2020.... Club Competitions for Fully Paid Up Members: GS Dog, GS Bitch and Pup/Jun of the Year 2020 points will be calculated from SLIGO 2019 up to and including AICSS Champ 2020. πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†  Good Luck to all competitors. Make sure that your membership is fully paid up πŸ˜‰

Points calculated as follows ?

o      Champ Shows: 1st place = 4 points, 2nd = 3 points, 3rd = 2 points, 4th = 1 point.  Bonus point for Green Star.

 o      AICSS Champ Show AND AICSS Open Shows: 1st place = 6 points, 2nd = 5 points, 3rd = 4 points, 4th = 3 point.  One Bonus point for Green Star, Two Bonus Points for Best Pup in Show

Circuit Points Trophy competition  for the Rough Collie with the most points calculated from class wins on the Munster Circuit (2019 Navan, Clonmel, Killarney, Limerick, Tralee)

(1)                 No extra points for Green Stars, Reserve Green Stars or Best of Breed

(2)                 Points calculated as follows  1st place = 4 points, 2nd = 3 points, 3rd = 2 points, 4th = 1 point

(3)                 Completed entry form must be submitted to a committee member after the Tralee show

(4)                 The winner will be announced soon after the Circuit finishes so your wins MUST be submitted immediately after Tralee show. You can email to colliesociety@gmail.com 

Newcomer of the Year (Ezzmare Perpetual Cup)

·       Perpetual cup on offer to the newcomer who wins the most points each year.

·       It’s easy. You win points for entering dog shows – and even more points for winning!

·       The more collies you show, the more points you will accumulate

·       Bonus…………If your collie was bred by an AICSS member – the breeder also wins a cup!

·       In this competition, a “newcomer” means a member who joined the club (for the first time) less than five years before each annual competition commences

 Owners - get your Rough Collies to dog shows – and start collecting those points. If you’re not going to shows, you won’t be a winner!

 Breeders – encourage new owners to SHOW their gorgeous Rough Collies and you could win the Ezzmare Cup for the breeder
